Workplace Volunteering
At ECDC African Community Center (ACC), our mission is to help refugees and immigrants rebuild safe, sustainable lives in Denver. You can make an impact and welcome refugees into our community by joining us as we work to prepare comfortable new homes for arriving refugee families.
Are you looking for a way to engage your employees in a local cause? We enjoy working with large corporations, local businesses, other non-profit organizations, and more!
Your group may be a good fit to partner with us if you’re looking for:
A volunteer experience for 15 adults or fewer
An in-person, half-day commitment in Denver
A teambuilding experience that requires movement / some physical activity

Workplace Volunteer Days
ACC has provided workplace volunteer experiences for corporations such as the Boston Consulting Group, Development Counsellors International, Salesforce, Credit Union of Colorado, and more.
Workplace Volunteer Days are typically a three-hour commitment during 9 am - 5 pm business hours on weekdays. They will primarily occur at our warehouse space located at East Colfax Avenue and Leyden Street. Please note that we are only able to accommodate up to 15 volunteers and all must be over 18 years old due to warehouse policies.
Tasks for the day will include unpacking donations, building furniture, and organizing household items that will furnish the homes of newcomer refugee families. They may also include loading/unloading a box truck and assisting in the set-up of a newcomer family’s apartment.
We’ll start the day with a brief introduction on our work resettling refugees in Denver and how your group will be making an impact during your time with us. Then, our Housing Team will guide you through the objectives for the day. We’ll provide music, snacks, and icebreakers if your team would like more time to get to know each other!
The cost for a Workplace Volunteer Day is $1,000.
*Based on capacity we may be able to accommodate other community-based organizations who require flexibility with the fee.
