Co-Sponsorship Program

Co-sponsorship at ACC Denver creates opportunities for communities to play a key role in supporting refugees and other forcibly displaced individuals as they settle into their new homes.

In co-sponsorship, refugees are paired with groups of volunteers, such as faith communities, businesses, civil society organizations, clubs, and other groups of individuals or friends. The co-sponsor group provides financial support, household donations, and volunteer services to support a refugee family’s welcome and integration.

Co-sponsors can also be ambassadors, helping to foster positive attitudes toward refugees and resettlement in their communities.

For me, it’s been the most rewarding volunteer work that I have done, and I’ve done a lot of volunteer work. To work directly with the family, to watch them grow and learn to live in a country where they had no idea what it was going to be like - it has been very rewarding.
