2025 Run for Refugees

Join us on May 17-18 for our second annual Run for Refugees event!

ACC is excited to be an official Charity Partner of the Denver Colfax Marathon, “the largest running weekend in the Rockies”. Through the Charity Partners Program, participants who register to run or walk in one of the race weekend events can choose a nonprofit organization to support at no extra charge.

Select ACC as your Charity Partner and join us as we run and walk for refugees on race weekend!

By participating, you not only show solidarity for our refugee and immigrant neighbors, but you can also help to raise vital funds for the essential services that ACC provides to newcomers - which include housing, education, job training, healthcare, and more.

This year, the 2025 Denver Colfax Marathon will be taking place on May 17-18.

How It Works:

You will have the option to choose ACC as your Charity Partner when you register to run or walk in one of the races. Then, you can decide how you’d best like to make an impact leading up to race day - starting a personal fundraising page, making a monetary donation, or helping us spread the word to your family and friends.

Any participant who donates or fundraises at least $50 for ACC will also receive a "Run for Refugees" t-shirt to wear on race weekend.

If you choose to set a fundraising goal and start your own fundraising page, our team will support you every step of the way to help you reach your goal.

How To Register:

1. Visit runcolfax.org and begin the registration process for one of the five different races:

• Colfax 5k

• Urban 10 Miler

• Half Marathon

• Marathon

• Marathon Relay (Open Division, Corporate Relay, Government Relay, or Public School Teachers Relay)

2. The online registration form will ask if you would like to run/walk for one of the Charity Partners. Click “Yes” and select “African Community Center” from the dropdown list of Charity Partners.

3. After you submit the registration form, we’ll email you with more Run for Refugees information, including instructions on how to set up a fundraising page if you would like to do so.
