Help refugees rebuild safe lives in Denver.
Thanks to community support, ACC welcomed a record-breaking 1,352 refugees in 2023.
We’ve been welcoming newcomers in Denver since 2001, and this was the highest number of individuals we’ve ever welcomed in a single year. This number represents a 30% increase from 2022, demonstrating the ever-growing need for our services.
The global refugee crisis is worsening, with the UNHCR estimating there are more than 110 million people forced to leave their homes due to persecution, conflict, and human rights violations. 43.3 million of these displaced individuals are children. (Source)
But together, we can help refugee families rebuild safe new lives in Denver. Please consider making a gift to help us continue meeting the needs of refugee and immigrant families in Denver.

Our Work
Resettlement
ACC operates a reception and placement program through the Ethiopian Community Development Council (ECDC). Basic resettlement services are provided for up to 90 days, and case management and employment services may be provided for up to 5 years. Additional supportive services are provided through the generous contributions of partners, individuals, family foundations and former refugees.
Employment Services
ACC serves refugees of varying English levels, educational backgrounds, work histories, and career goals. They all share a certain trait: they tend to be highly motivated employees. Our job developers work with employers to meet their staffing needs with our qualified refugee candidates, while also working to match the skills of each refugee candidate with a good job.
Integration Programs
Integration Programs are the bridge between the receiving community and our new neighbors. ACC currently offers three integration programs: We Made This, a sewing and therapeutic arts program for refugee women; Driving Opportunity, a women-led, multilingual driving school; and Ready for American Hospitality, a career training program held in coordination with the University of Denver School of Hospitality.
