ACC's Updated Donation Needs
Dear ACC supporters,
We are so grateful for those who have mailed us packages from our Amazon Wishlist, dropped off furniture donations at our warehouse, or brought boxes of household items to our office.
To paint the picture of how busy we’ve been…we’ve set up 13 apartments in the last 10 working days (yes- multiple move-ins per day!). We are resettling new families are a much faster pace than we ever have before. Since October 1st, 2021, we’ve resettled 323 individuals through the Afghan Placement & Assistance Program, and we’re expecting to receive up to 177 more individuals in the coming months (for a total of 500). Because of this, we need your help (again).
Thanks to the huge swell of support during the fall of 2021, we stopped accepting donations at our office for a few months to allow us time to organize and access our needs. We are now running low on our inventory and have updated our procedures for receiving in-kind donations.
Our most needed items include furniture, household items, kitchen items, cleaning supplies, and toiletries. We can accept items at our office on Mondays- Thursdays from 9-1 or 3-5 (gently used or new). You can also order items via our Amazon Wishlist and have them shipped directly to our office!
For at least the month of February, we are redirecting all furniture donations to the warehouse managed by the Colorado Afghan Support Response- “a multi-agency effort to successfully welcome and integrate approximately 2,000 Afghans resettling to Colorado.”
